You Want Some? is a declaration of creative rebellion. After two decades of chasing technical perfection, artist Oli Fowler found himself disillusioned by the sterility of digital-standard prints. This piece represents a “tearing back” of that polish, guided by a personal manifesto that prioritises internal joy and human friction over commercial viability. It is a raw, hand-pulled rediscovery of the tactile spontaneity and childhood curiosity that professional expectation often buries.

The flower serves as the aesthetic anchor amidst a riot of fluorescent hot pinks, electric blues, and acid yellows. Bold blooms with ringed centres overlap across the composition, their stems dissolving into a dripping, layered background where colours collide rather than resolve. Every clashing texture and shifted register is intentional—a celebration of the “beautiful accident” that no algorithm can replicate.

Mounted on a found wooden board sourced from the local community, the work is grounded in a material that carries its own lived-in history. You Want Some? rejects the rigid labels often imposed upon artists, instead leaning into the freedom of the “jack of all trades.” It is an honest, vibrant reaction to the physical act of making, finding happiness in the unpredictable spread of ink and the simple liberty of the moment.
