Many of the abstract landscapes originate from photographs that Lorraine has taken whilst exploring the natural terrain.  Inspired by the great outdoors, open spaces and the grounded feeling by how we are inconsequential. The image is pulled and pushed around, sketching as she goes along.  Lorraine employs the use of paints with varying opacities, so the different layers can be observed and the reflective qualities of interference paints that vary according to the lighting.
