Description
The second work in the Daisy Roots series shifts the focus. Where Daisy 1 scattered its flowers around the edges like fragments of a passing memory, this piece places a single daisy front and centre, direct, calm, and impossible to ignore.
The same palette returns: electric blues against soft pinks, cloud-like marks dissolving into loose gestures, traces of graffiti drifting through the lower half of the canvas. But the feeling is different here. Less nostalgic, more immediate. The painting doesn’t feel like it’s remembering something — it feels like it’s asking you to stop and look at it properly.
The exposed neon border gives the work a rawness, almost like a poster or found image pinned up temporarily, while the flower itself refuses to become a neat symbol. It doesn’t stand in for innocence or romance or anything so fixed. It’s simply there, demanding attention through scale, placement, and presence alone.
