Siama Rasheed

Born in Lahore, Pakistan, and now based in the UK, Saima Rasheed is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges memory, nature, and emotion through abstraction. Initially trained in the discipline of Miniature Painting, she later completed her MA in Fine Art with distinction from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2020. Saima's evolving practice moves from precision to intuition—layering colour, light, and texture in a process deeply rooted in both spiritual reflection and material exploration. Influenced by the poetics of Rumi, her paintings often begin with an orange underpainting, symbolising warmth, home, and origin. Her work has been exhibited internationally at venues including the Asia Triennial Manchester, Istanbul Art Fair, Colombo Biennale, and Art Contact. She has been shortlisted for the Sovereign Asian Art Prize and nominated for the Jameel Art Prize.
