Rich Roberts

Rich Roberts (RP) is an artist whose work sits naturally at the intersection of art, snowboarding and the mountains. A Welsh artist with roots in skate culture and graffiti, RP has developed a distinctive visual language built around dramatic landscapes, vivid colour, bold textures and the energy of the outdoors.

Drawing and painting from an early age, RP was heavily influenced by the graffiti scene around his hometown in Wales. That background remains visible in his work today — not necessarily through traditional graffiti imagery, but in his fearless use of colour, expressive marks and layered textures. His landscapes feel both recognisable and imagined: mountains are captured with enough detail to feel real, yet transformed through an almost dreamlike, graphic quality.

Snowboarding has been an equally important part of RP's creative journey. He has been riding since 1996, and his understanding of mountains comes not only from looking at them, but from experiencing them as a snowboarder. That perspective has become central to his art. He understands the terrain, the ridgelines, the scale of a peak and, perhaps most importantly, the feeling of being in the mountains.

His relationship with Jones Snowboards helped bring these two worlds together. After creating mountain paintings inspired by his own experiences, RP began sharing them online and eventually connected with Jones. His artwork has appeared on Jones snowboards since 2017, turning his paintings into something that could actually travel through the mountains with riders.
