Pete Hawkin's artwork is utterly gorgeous. We first stumbled across him at an art fair, where his work stood out for its precision and soft, refined colour palette - particularly his stamp pieces. These works feel like small windows into another world, evoking distant places such as India, with a dreamlike and blissful quality. There’s something distinctly regal in their composition and decoration, as if they could have once existed as real stamps, carrying both history and a sense of grandeur. Having recently returned from living in Texas, Hawkins continues his practice in Suffolk where he is based with his family. Having turned to art after working in another field, Pete quickly realised it was where he truly belonged. His practice continues to evolve through a careful balance of detail, colour, and curiosity - from Ballerinas to Cowboys - we are delighted to welcome his work to our collection.
