Nigel Cooke

Nigel Cooke grew up in Yorkshire; before becoming a full-time artist Nigel had a number of different jobs, he originally joined the Merchant Navy, and then went on to work as an entertainer at Butlins, Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Nigel has always had an interest in art; after his grandfather’s death he inherited his easel and paints and wanted to follow in his footsteps. Nigel originally was a caricature artist, but since has gone on to paint cityscapes in a fine art style- he still remains a member of the National Caricature Network in the USA. Nigel uses his unique illustration experience in his work, focusing on the way he views subjects. Nigel’s unmistakable style involves creating beautiful textured scenes that have intricate, layered details. Nigel has sold paintings all across the world, and has become one of the UK’s most popular artists.
