Magnus Gjoen

Magnus Gjoen was born in London to Norwegian parents. Magnus has lived in many different places, he grew up in Switzerland, Denmark and Italy and other places within the UK. Magnus’ work is about juxtaposing the notion of beauty, having something that is considered ugly, like an insect, and adding beautiful traditional patterns on top. He likes to draw from pieces of history, using existing artworks or fragments to create his own aesthetic. Magnus studied fine art and fashion design, this led to a successful career in fashion working for brands such as Vivienne Westwood. Magnus’ work is exhibited around the world, we are thrilled to have his work at IIF Gallery.
