Keith McBride

Keith McBride paints iconic scenes of London, his quirky take on the capital is a more unique approach than we normally see. Keith captures the movement and energy of the city but in an almost cartoony way, he starts with an ink drawing in a loose style, then paints with acrylics and incorporates silkscreen printing to make the piece as vibrant as possible. Keith refers to his artworks as massive jigsaw pieces in reverse. Keith spent time working in London, he would observe people and sketch what he sees. His main sources of inspiration are people, architecture and transportation- he would often visit rooftop bars in the centre of London to watch the city wake up. Keith’s work reminds us here at IIF Gallery what an incredible city we are a part of.
