Corinna Wilson is the artist behind Bob & Eve. The name is a reference to the word’s bobbin and weave as a reference to her use of textiles as a medium. The bobbin is an integral part of weaving on a loom. Another reason for the pseudonym was that Corinna didn’t want her parents to see the swear words in her work! She uses a method called hand tufting. This is a newer technique that combines the ancient craft of weaving with a modern day technology. The artist starts with a clean piece of linen and pulls wool strands through using a tufting tool. Corinna creates amusing phases and floral images using lavish colours. Together with her husband Steve they bounce ideas and slogans off each other. She takes pleasure from referencing him in the name as Eve instead of Steve! Hence, the background to Bob & Eve.
